This week horseback riding holidays in the heart of Provence is ideal if you don't feel ready to go directly on a week progressive Inn to Inn horseback ride, to prepare yourself for the practice of traveling on horseback ! while discovering the beauty of the nature of the Natural Park from the Luberon.
INDICATIVE ITINERARY *
Sunday: Meeting in Lauris between 6 and 7 pm. Welcome aperitive, presentation of your week. Dinner and night in your guesthouse.
Monday: After breakfast, departure for a short ride to get you in the saddle in the hills around. One hour in the morning and an two hours in the afternoon. Dinner and night at your guesthouse.
Tuesday: A day ride with a picnic on the Durance river bank. Nice ride among almond. Ride back to your accommodation where you may enjoy a swim in the covered pool. Dinner and night at your guesthouse.
Wednesday: Morning off. Visit of Lourmarin, classified "one of the nicest village in France". Free lunch in the village. The afternoon, you will ride in the pine tree hills and along olive trees, vineyards and other fruit trees with a stop in a cave for a wine tasting. Dinner and night at your guesthouse.
Thursday: Take off for a two day trail ride with the night spent in an Inn in the heart of the Luberon. Dinner and night in a charming Inn with a swimming pool in the heart of the Luberon, at the foot of famous climbing cliffs (at some dates, 
depending on availbility, transfer to your accommodation in Lauris).
Friday: Head back following the “Gorges de l’Aiguebrun”, a canyon that is renowned for its cliffs that are famous for rock climbing. Dinner and night at your guesthouse.
Saturday: Departure after breakfast.
* Indicative itinerary that can be changed if necessary (weather, fire risks, ...).
Please note: in Summer, in case of high level fire risk, some forest massifs may be prohibited from access overnight, implying possible changes to the itinerary, without financial compensation.
MEETING:
Sunday evening at Lauris in the Luberon. Free transfer * from Marseille Provence airport (5 p.m.), Aix en Provence TGV station (5.30 p.m.).
* Please note: plan to arrive in advance of the meeting time to avoid having to take a taxi in case of delay.
DEPARTURE:
Saturday morning after breakfast. Departure at 9.30 am of the free transfer * to Aix en Provence TGV station (±10h30, book a tgv after 11am) or Marseille airport (±11h, booking a flight after 12 noon).
* Attention: no departure possible before or after 9:30 a.m., plan a train or plane departure sufficiently after the scheduled arrival time to avoid having to take a taxi. Tgv: not before 11 a.m., flight: not before 12 p.m. Please note: for the "ouigo" tgv: registration required 30 minutes in advance at the station.

To enjoy this week: You must be comfortable walking and trotting and have some notions of cantering. This stay is suitable for riders who do not dare to go on a horseback trip: it allows the rider to achieve the necessary three gate ease. Possibility of stay for non riders.
RYTHM:
An alternation of half days and full days allows the rider to get used to his horse and to fully enjoy the 2 last day Inn to Inn trip. This program is easy to adapt to participants' levels, weather conditions, fire risks.
GUIDE & ASSISTANT:
1 qualified guide speaking French and English + 1 professional assistant ensuring the preparation of midday meals.
HORSES:
Essentially crosses of Spanish, Arab, French breed. Horses are allocated according to each rider weight, height, riding level and experience. All our horses are trail riding “professionals”. Living throughout the year in a herd, trail riding is their only work activity. For these reasons, they are well-balanced gentle, yet wilfully engaged.
TACK:
Comfortable trail ride saddles, hollow and secure, fitted with saddlebags. Comfortable for both the horse and the rider.
ACCOMMODATION:
- In a comfortable bed and breakfast with swimming pool, next to the equestrian center. One night* of the progressive ride in an Inn with in the Luberon.
* Please note: the night in an inn in the heart of the Luberon during the two progressive days is subject to availability of the accommodation, in the event of unavailability: return by minibus to your accommodation in Lauris.
Indicative accommodation (subject to availability):
Les Gargoulettes - Accommodation in a guest house next to the equestrian center with indoor swimming pool, hammam, jacuzzi.
5 nights.
Les Seguins - Typical inn in the heart of the Luberon.
1 night during the progressive ride (subject to availability).
In case of unavailability, the horses stay at the inn, the riders are transferred to their accommodation in Lauris.
MEALS:
The breakfasts are traditional breakfasts: hot drinks with bread, butter, jam, honey, cereals, fruit juices (no cheese, eggs, …).
At lunch, an assistant prepares a generous buffet.
For less than 5 riders: picnics may be taken in saddlebags (mixed salads, local charcuterie, cheese, fruit, etc.). A free lunch is not included in Lourmarin to enjoy the village.
Dinners are prepared by your hosts at the guesthouse, one dinner at the inn (if available) during the 2 progressive days. Local cuisine, varied and refined. Special diets (vegetarian and medical requirements) can be accommodated. Wine is included with meals.

Transfers to/from Aix center station, Aix tgv station, Marseille Airport: not offered.

The above prices are for a minimum of 4 riders. A stay can be confirmed with a supplement for less than 4 riders: contact us to know the number of riders registered for the week that interests you.

THE PRICE INCLUDES:
The equipped horse, the guide, the assistant ensuring the preparation of the lunch buffets (unless for small groups: picnics are taken in saddlebags) and the transport of luggage during the progressive ride (if the accommodation is available), transfers from / to Aix-en-Provence TGV station or Marseille airport at fixed days & times for the 6 night package, full board accommodation except one lunch, the financial guarantee of your payments by our travel operator deposit.
THE PRICE DOESN'T INCLUDE:
Individual insurance, drinks out of meals, 1 lunch, any visits, transfers from / to Aix-en-Provence stations or Marseille airport at fixed days & times for the 4 night package, all that does not 'is not indicated in "the prices include".
INSURANCE:
A civil liability and travel insurance (assistance/repatriation) is compulsory. A cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.
A payment by credit card can make you benefit from its possible insurance (check your contract).

La semaine dernière j'ai eu un grand plaisir de passer une semaine au Mas de Recaute et de faire le séjour Cheval & Nature en Luberon. Mon guide, Paul, m'a emmené sur des randonnées magiques à travers le Luberon. Il est plein de connaissances sur la Provence et son histoire. Notre chef nous a préparé d'excellents repas, comme le canard grillé à la cheminée, la ratatouille provencale, sa tapenade maison, et de superbes salades. Pierre nous a préparé des pique-niques fabuleux. Merci de m'avoir emmené découvrir le marché de Lourmarin. Après les diners, je me sentais comme faisant partie de l'équipe, dansant, chantant avec tout le monde ! Le meilleur des services de la part d'une équipe professionnelle. Je suis décidée à revenir pour faire la randonnée à cheval du Luberon à la Camargue !
