Horseback riding in Andalucia: a shorter version of our stunning ride on the hidden side of the Sierra Nevada in Andalucia. A more cultural and more gastronomic program, on the gentle slopes and immense plains of the north face of the Sierra Nevada. Horseback riding designed for those who only want to spend 3 days on horseback in the Sierra Nevada. The three days allow you to discover the different landscapes of this “hidden face of the Sierra Nevada”: valleys, high mountain landscapes and “the end of the world” with its red clay canyons.

TRAIL RIDE IN ANDALUSIA
INDICATIVE ITINERARY *

Day 1: Meeting in the late afternoon at Granada airport or directly at your hotel. Welcome by your guide and presentation of your ride.

rando a cheval en andalousieDay 2 - Thursday: Lugros - Sendero de los pastores - Pantaneta - Lugros.
After a good breakfast, transfer by car to the equestrian facilities (15 minutes), to get to know the horses. This first day on horseback allows you to adapt to your horse: you set off on an easy path with marvelous views of the plateau at an altitude of 1200m, the “shepherds’ path” which crosses thick pine forests. The density of these forests, the silence and tranquility of the environment, allow you to discover the magical nature of this place. You arrive at “La Pantaneta”: small lake surrounded by mountains formed with the melting snow of Sierra Nevada. The bravest can swim in its very cool water! Picnic with local products by the lake. Return to the equestrian facilities and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and night.

image-20230322114413-1Day 3 - Friday: Lugros - Camarate - Jerez del Marquesado.
The softness of these mountains with easy paths for the movement of livestock, allowed the inhabitants of this region to drive their cows and their “toros bravos” to the green high mountain meadows, known as “El Camarate”. It is a special place that mixes vast meadows with trees of Atlantic origin, which is why it is known as “the enchanted forest”, since it seems that you can feel the presence of gnomes or fairies. Around noon, you reach an altitude of 2000 meters to take your picnic from the the saddlegabs. Then you descend to the small village of Jerez del Marquesado. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and night.

rando cheval andalousieDay 4 - Saturday: Jerez del Marquesado - Valle del Zalabí - Lugros.
Today you descend from the plateau (1200m) towards the Zalabí valley, crossing a green landscape, surrounded by crops. In another era (Andalousí), mulberry trees were cultivated which fed the silkworms needed to make the robes of the Muslim sultans who inhabited Andalusia. You take your picnic to La Tejea, a natural water source of Arab origin that emerges directly from the ground. Return to the facilities of Lugros and you head to Guadix by car (15 minutes) to rest, then enjoy the local gastronomy and wines at the hotel.

Day 5: - Sunday: End your horseback riding in Andalusia after breakfast. Possible transfer to Granada.
We advise you to extend your stay in Andalusia and visit the city and the Alhambra. Ask your guide on site to book tickets for the visit.

* Indicative itinerary that may be changed if necessary.
