Horseback riding in Andalusia in the Tabernas Desert: ride in this exceptional site which has been used for the shooting of many western films. The Tabernas Desert in Andalusia, is a desert protected as a wild region by its Natural Park, it extends over 280 square kilometers. The Andalusian Tabernas Desert, is located between the Sierra de los Filabres to the north, the Sierra Alhamilla to the south-southeast and the Sierra Nevada to the west.
Part of the desert is located in the Sierra Alhamilla (endowed with lush vegetation composed of a wood of holm oaks and pine reforestation, with great biological diversity: thyme, fig trees, oleander, herons, peregrine falcons, eagles, owls, foxes, hedgehogs, rabbits, hares, lizards, snakes ...). The Tabernas Desert, because of its similarities to the West American deserts, has been with some of the Cabo de Gata villages from the 1950s onwards, a shooting site for many "spaghetti" western movies, that made it famous in the whole world.
