HORSE RIDE IN OMAN
INDICATIVE ITINERARY *

horse riding OmanDay 1 - Saturday: Arrival at Seeb international airport and transfer to your hotel located nearby Mutrah Souk and Old Muscat City with palace and museum. Afternoon city tour, Mutrah Souk, one of the most popular souks in the Middle East. Take a walk in its labyrinths with a myriad of merchandise, from imported fabrics to exotic Oriental spices, perfumes and richly handcrafted Artifacts. A visit to this frenetic, pulsating hub of Muscat’s old quarter makes for a delightful experience. After Mutrah 5 minutes by taxi, the magnificent Al Alam Palace, the official residence of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said the ruler of Oman. The palace is an architectural marvel for both its design and its location between the twin Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali.
Hotel Muttrah.

Oman week horseback ridingDay 2 - Sunday: fter your breakfast we will drive to wadi Bani Khalid located 3 hours 30 minutes from Muscat. It is the best-known wadi of the Sharqiyah region. Its stream maintains a constant flow of water throughout the year. Large pools of water and boulders are scattered along the course of the wadi. As a geographical area, Wadi Bani Khalid covers a large swath of low land and mountains.
Comfort camp overnight.

Days 3 to 6 - Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday: About 4 hours on horseback per day. The horses are waiting for us for this ride of the "Sands of the Wahiba", named after the tribe of Bedouins who live there. During the next 5 days, we will ride in this immense desert, where the wind has sculpted the dunes. We ride on an ocean of ocher sand, and we totally immerse ourselves in this universe very different from ours. The Bedouins, masters of the place, live in dwellings made of palm branches, different from the large black woolen tents of the Arabian Bedouins, which are much too hot in Oman! Camel breeding in the sultanate is very active and famous and prices can reach exorbitant sums. It is a strange feeling to come across young cameleers who may be the owners of real champions who will compete on the racetracks of the neighboring Emirates. This ride plunges us into the Bedouin tradition. The Bedouins are different from other inhabitants of the Sultanate, it is a world apart, hospitality and very strict rules are applied in a community where everyone knows each other. A local craft is maintained by the women, young girls sometimes come to meet us to offer us bracelets, goat wool bags... The rhythm of this equestrian adventure is dynamic, wherever the terrain allows it, we will enjoy good gallops. and long trots.
Comfort camp overnights

Day 7 - Friday:You finish your ride before noon. Transfer and visit of Nizwa, the main city of the interior which was the capital of Oman. An oasis located at the southern end of Hajar Mountain, Oman's highest mountain range. The vast gardens and palm groves of the city-oasis are dominated by the old fort with the largest tower in Oman (40m in diameter, 20m in height). Falaj canals, over 500 years old, carry water into the oasis. Nizwa is an old trade with a large souk, where you can admire traditional silver jewelry and local crafts. Lunch in Nizwa. Our Driver will take us to Al Hamra and Misfah, 2 Typical villages at the foot of the Hajar mountains. You can visit and stroll in the village where the freshness is pleasant. Visit the Omani Falaj irrigation system. Departure for Misfah, a small typical village, Night in the splendid village.
Overnight at Misfah guest house or similar.

Day 8 -Saturday: Early transfer to Sur the capital city of Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, and the former capital of Ash Sharqiyah Region in northeastern Oman, on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. It is located about (203 km) southeast of the Oman capital Muscat. Historically, the city has been known for being an important destination point for sailors. Today, the sea still remains an important part of life in Sur. By the 6th century, Sur was an established center for trade with East Africa. Ibn Battuta commented on his visit to this "roadstead of a large village on the seashore."[2] In the 16th century, it was  under Portuguese rule but was liberated by the Omani Imam Nasir ibn Murshid and underwent an economic revival, as a trade center with India and East Africa. This continued until the mid-19th century, when the British outlawed the slave trade. The city was further ruined by the opening of the Suez Canal, which saw it lose trade with India. We will continue to Muscat via the costal road and stop by Wadi Shab and sinkhole. a very nice fisherman's old town; Visit the Sur boat museum and we will continue our road to Muscat passing via Wadi Tiwi and sinkhole.
