The Doñana Natural Park is a paradise for horses; it is the most important wetland on the European continent. Between the provinces of Huelva, Seville and Cádiz, Doñana is a labyrinth of land and water that shapes marshes, ponds and streams, pine forests, dunes, beaches and spectacular cliffs. The diversity of landscapes and ecosystems creates complex lagoons that dominate this natural space, providing refuge for thousands of birds and wild animals, including the largest colony of Iberian lynx. Among the varied landscapes that Doñana also has, the dunes located between Matalascañas and the mouth of the Guadalquivir, there are more than 25 kilometers of virgin white sand beach. La Doñana is above all a place where "the horse is king". Today, in the Doñana Natural Park, there are more than 1,000 wild horses roaming free. These horses come from the ancient Marismeña breed, which is believed to have given rise to the "mesteños", the ancient Andalusian horses that were taken to America with the settlers. This horseback ride allows you, for a few days, to live like an authentic Andalusian who loves and lives with horses.
