The week was fabulous !!! The guide and his horses and team were all great. I’d say we really got our money’s worth. The hospitality was great ! All a lot of fun. I will let my horse friends know about this trip as well as the other trips you offer. Thank you so much for your support. Make sure that the guide hears how much “Liz” who rode Gionic loved the trip. All the best.
Liz.
Extraordinary guide ! Excellent guide and human with his riders always helping them to communicate to tell the story of the places where we went. He paid attention to everything to help with his brother.
My horse: My sweet Nicky: close to people. She licked me constantly balanced courageous cute nice who responded to everything. A foolproof horse I wouldn't have changed her all week. Well chosen for me.
We picnicked for lunch in super beautiful places each time different and the food was widely different and in large quantities.
Frankly, apart from the heat which tired us all, horses and men: We had a great ride every day, different. The only downside: Not being able to swim in lakes and rivers.
Cap Rando services: Quick answers to questions.
Welcome:
Very good. The team and everyone we met were extremely welcoming and friendly. Aperol spritz is now a firm favourite
Our luggage was moved easily from place to place
The taxi service from and back to Orvieto was efficient
It would have been so helpful to have had a full briefing session with a map prior to starting the trek so we could see each stage beforehand (See final comments) as well as some discussion about the horses available to ride
Security:
There was great attention to detail and clear signalling when to start trotting etc. There was one difficult incident going up and down a narrow gorge
Being left alone in the narrow space with a very new (to trekking) horse when all the others went off was quite challenging
We would not want this to detract from the overall good care that was shown !
Riders need to be prepared for some very steep inclines and declines. Better to let us know a bit more in advance
Horses:
The horses were well looked after and extremely fit, covering the terrain easily and at a good pace. They got on well together as a herd.
The only issue was that we were presented with no choice/alternative options regarding which horse we could ride or any discussion beforehand about suitable matches for us
The three other riders (first three days) appeared to have “selected” the horses they preferred for themselves
This left two horses for us and E did not want to ride one of them For the remaining three days we could change to other horses which was more relaxing for us
Tack:
This was all excellent There was help with tacking and untacking as required
Accommodation:
This was all of a good standard . Two of the places were outstanding
The hosts were very welcoming and the meals generous and varied
It was a shame that we only found out that we could not stay in the planned place (near Vulci), next to the horses, until we got there
The only issue was the need for direct help with trying to get clothes and boots dry after riding in heavy rain
General satisfaction:
We want to thank the team and Cap Rando for a great riding holiday with super horses, stunning scenery, historic sites and lots of wild life !
A very nice ride to discover Tuscany on horseback !
Very pleasant environment, very nice group and guide always taking care of the group.
The accommodations are of high quality. Typical meals, top, and in large quantities !
Nice welcome in each place, even the dogs were adorable ! Perfect !
The guide takes great care of his horses, it is very appreciable. I had the chance to ride Poppi for the week, very good mare, easy, attentive.
Thank you Cap Rando for your reactivity during my late registration and for your advice on the choice of this ride 👍
The guide was a great guide and runs a very good outfit. I would have liked his English to be better, as communication was sometimes difficult (his English was broken and my French was broken and I had no Italian). Spritz was great - lots of energy, never got tired, loved to trot and canter. Every place we stayed was wonderful. My favorite was the Castello di Proceno, which was a real castle. The owner gave me a private tour of her residence and the main tower. Our rooms were in one of the shorter towers that had been renovated into apartments. Overall, Cap Rando is an excellent company to travel with.
The staff were excellent. The guide was fantastic! He was attentive and conscientious with the horses as well as with the guests. It filled with enthusiasm and fun and supported the riders very well. I loved my little horse (Bimbo)! Solid and comfortable gaits, knowing his job. Wonderfully interesting and comfortable accommodation. Good food. We had a fantastic time despite the bad weather over 3 days.
We come back from our horseback ride in Tuscany and are delighted with our stay: the horses are fantastic, the horseback riding very well organized. The landscapes are fantastic, the light is magical ... Beautiful encounters in our different accommodations, excellent food and a warm welcome. In short: Delighted! Thank you for everything.
What a great advice to go on horseback in Tuscany ! An extra guide ! He shared his passion with us with humility and pride. His horses are well in their heads, they accompany us with courage and affection during the trip. Meetings with the country but also the inhabitants who welcome us with finesse and attention. Thanks again for everything ! The most beautiful holidays! Delighted !!
Thank you for such a beautiful week in Tuscany. As always with Cap Rando, a more than successful holiday. And the guide: more than brilliant ! Super good !!!
Where to start ? Our horseback trip through Tuscany was both magical and unforgettable. My mom and I went to celebrate a very special birthday and it couldn't have been more special ! The horses were extremely well cared, well behaved, groomed and gentle. You can see that the guide really likes each of them and knows them very well. The hotels and B & Bs were very nice and the food ... oh the food ! was absolutely spectacular ! Our favorite town was Proceno where we met Pucci and her wonderful husband Giovanni. We had dinner at their amazing Michelin starred restaurant and ate the most amazing black truffle ravioli imaginable. After sipping champagne and wonderful wine, we sat by the fireplace and Pucci told us about his life and his family history. All of this and we slept in a castle ! The ride was spectacular. Long gallops and trots with beautiful landscapes of all kinds. The whole trip was like a movie. We loved spending time with our guide and Serena. All in all, I would highly recommend this Tuscany horseback riding trip to anyone looking for adventure, fabulous food, even better wine, and memories that will last a lifetime !
