INDICATIVE ITINERARY
29/12: Arrival in the evening for dinner and overnight at your acccommodation, near Sovana.
30/12: Departure on horseback after breakfast: Crossing the Fiora river, to the very famous and beautiful hot water thermal waterfalls (38 degrees) of Saturnia, Lunch in a small restaurant on the edge of the waterfalls, those who wish can take a hot bath and be massaged by the strong current, then return on horseback to Sovana. A day of about 6 hours in the saddle..
31/12: Departure in the same direction as Saturnia, the first 45 minutes, crossing the river, then towards the beautiful village of "S. Martino sul Fiora" where we have lunch in a small typical restaurant. After a short rest and with a full stomach, we leave towards Sovana, crossing the Fiora river but on the other side, several kilometers before, along a beautiful path to the stables, and sometimes we pass on the Etruscan paths ... A day of maximum 5 hours in the saddle. In the evening: New Year's Eve dinner. And a small fireworks !
01/01: We leave for the Etruscan cave and we will stop at the beautiful and large Etruscan tomb "Il debranda" (one of the most beautiful tombs in central Italy). We continue through the immense vineyards belonging to the Antinori family: the greatest winemakers in Italy since 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori founded the first wine cellar in Italy, then we stop to eat at a restaurant along the path in the countryside, "La Douane". After lunch we return to the horses. A day of 4 hours riding, 1-2 hours more if, in addition to visiting the tombs.
02/01: End of your horse riding in Tuscany after breakfast.

Our Italy ride was fabulous! Overall the trip was spectacular! the guide was extremely professional, the horses were great, and it was a wonderful ride. Having done some wild trekking rides before I have to say it as nice to be with a guide who while we did enjoy great gallops and trots, took safety seriously and make sure to keep us safe. We truly hope to go ride in Italy again someday! Here is a review:
Where to begin? Our ride through Tuscany was both magical and unforgettable. My mother and I went to celebrate a very special birthday and it could not have been more special! The horses were extremely well taken care of, well behaved, groomed, and sweet. You can see that the guide really loves each of them and knows each one of them very well. The hotels and B&B's were very nice and the food.....oh the food was absolutely spectacular! Our favorite town was Proceno where we met Pucci and her wonderful husband Giovanni. We dined at their amazing Michelin star restaurant and ate the most incredible black truffle ravioli one could imagine. After sipping champagne and wonderful wine we sat by the fireplace and Pucci told us about her life and her families history. All this and we got to sleep in a castle!
The riding was spectacular. Long gallops and trots with beautiful scenery of every genre. The entire trip felt like a movie. Overall, I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for adventure, fabulous food, even better wine, and memories that will last a lifetime!
