HORSEBACK RIDING TRAIL RIDE IN CORSICA
INDICATIVE ITINERARY *
Saturday: Meeting in Corsica at 7 pm at Bastia airport or directly at the equestrian center near Corte. Welcome aperivie, dinner and night in a mobil home.
Sunday: After the breakfast, contact with your horse and equipment. Start of your horse riding tour in Corsica. This first stage through the maquis will continue in the afternoon on the mountainous plateaus around the Cose villages. Around 6 p.m., end of the day on horseback, everyone can find their mobile home before the meal.
Monday: After breakfast around 8:30 am transfer of horses in a van (60 min) from Tartagine to the small isolated village of Novella with its large façades and pretty porches, not forgetting the ruins of its castle dating from the 11th century, its mill, its noble house. Overnight in mobile home at the Ostriconi campsite.
Tuesday: Departure at the gates of the Agriate Desert. This region of nearly 16,000 hectares has only the desert name: it was once considered a granary of Corsica. Today it still retains its many small dry stone houses, which were used for housing, storing wheat, tools or sheltering livestock. You take the coastal trail with a picnic stop in saddlebags with Guignu paghjaghju. Then direction Saleccia beach. You take dinner and spend the night in a gîte.
Wednesday: After a fortifying breakfast, you get back in the saddle and continue your horse riding trip on the fabulous beach of Saleccia. You can admire magnificent panoramic views of the Gulf of Saint-Florent, its golden sandy beaches and turquoise waters. During this day, you ride about 4 hours on the customs trail and enjoy a swimming break with your horse. You will stop in Saint-Florent to spend the night in a mobile home at a campsite.
Thursday: The morning is spent visiting the village of Saint-Florent, shopping and swimming or walking on the beach. The afternoon takes you on horseback to discover a region of vineyards and beaches: the Nebbiu region. You cross these very different spaces from the rest of Corsica and you can admire the view of its vineyards, green pastures and terraced crops. You then go up to the small village of Vallecale for the night in a refuge.
Friday: This morning you are riding for the last day on horseback in Corsica. You start by starting an ascent to Bocca di Tenda, culminating at 1300m. At the pass, you will discover a panoramic point of view on the Corsican mountain. With a little luck you can see herds of horses roaming free. Then, you descend to the village of Pietralba and the Asco river, to find the vehicles that take you to the equestrian center. Dinner and overnight in a mobil home of the equestrian center.

Warm welcome at the equestrian center; availability of the team which is very competent; great professionalism (knowledge of the horses and the riding route + each point of departure for the night, adaptability according to weather conditions). They pay a great attention to the group.
I felt completely safe throughout the hike. Clear, precise instructions, constant availability of the guide (Clair) and the team.
Horses in excellent health, very well cared, good in their head. Adapted and comfortable saddles, in excellent condition.
Delicious varied meals, balanced and in generous quantities. Local recipes and dishes. Stunning ! Functional accommodation.
Perfect Cap Rando services with a very useful travel document.
Claire, my guide, her passion for horses and Corsica seduced me. Excellent horse: Palladin excellent mount. Very comfortable saddles even 6 hours a day on horseback. The saddlebags put a strain on the bush but despite everything reliable, nothing was lost on the way ! Accommodation: Sarah and Violette did a remarkable job, the food was excellent, varied and healthy. The place always nice and with their charm. I recommend to everyone ! For equestrian, tourist and taste pleasure ! Cap Rando services: I was contacted very quickly following my registration and my questions. The electronic signature and payment system are very efficient !
